Sports and lifestyle brand Everlast has signed a deal to license a range of athletic and casual footwear through footwear marketer ES Originals.

ES Originals is due to start distributing the new Everlast-branded products in the second quarter of 2007, targeting sports, athletic footwear and department stores throughout the US and Canada.

The new licence replaces Everlast's previous footwear deal with Footstar's Meldisco division, which targeted mass market retailers.

Eddie Esses, president of ES Originals, said he hoped the deal would give Everlast "broader appeal, especially among a younger generation."

Everlast chairman, president and CEO Seth Horowitz said ES Originals had "unparallelled" experience in footwear marketing and was the perfect partner for the brand.

"We expect this group's unique product offerings to bolster our existing worldwide footwear programmes and add to the lustre of the iconic Everlast brand," he added.
