Sports goods and apparel company Everlast Worldwide has signed a license with Wilson Imports for men's, women's and children's footwear in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The deal enables Wilson to distribute Everlast-branded footwear to sporting goods retailers, department stores and athletic footwear retailers in the region.

The agreement complements one already established with Wilson for Everlast active apparel signed earlier this year.

Everlast will continue to supply professional and amateur boxing shoes to the market.

Seth Horowitz , Everlast's chairman, chief executive and president, said: "Today's agreement between Everlast and Wilson Imports marks another step in our international licensing program, which we are taking to a more refined level for increased brand exposure in each region of the world.

"Everlast has realised early success with Wilson Imports' active apparel line, and we anticipate high market penetration within their distribution territory by their combined efforts in apparel and footwear.

"We view the UK.and Republic of Ireland as separate markets from the rest of Europe, as tastes and consumer needs differ substantially, and this new licensing agreement will help to meet those demands."

Iain Wilson, Jr, director of Wilson Imports, said: "Wilson Imports is pleased to bring a new line of footwear to the markets in the UK and Republic of Ireland, using our already strong distribution channels throughout the region."

Everlast manufactures, markets and licenses sporting goods and apparel products under the Everlast brand name.
