Elbit Vision Systems Ltd, the supplier of automatic optical inspection and quality monitoring systems for the textile and the nonwoven industries, Wednesday blamed "market weakness" for static second quarter sales. It also said the board had reached a decision on the firm's new CEO and CFO.

For the second quarter ended 30 June 2002, net sales were $2.1 million, versus $2.2 million in the same period of 2001. Net loss for the second quarter was $0.52 million, down from $0.46 million in 2001.

Mr Zami Aberman has been named the new president and chief executive officer of EVS Ltd and Mr Yaky Yanay the new CFO and company secretary, effective this month.
