A new agreement signed by eWarna and American & Efird should help companies bypass the traditional thread approval process by incorporating A&E's thread colour palette within eWarna's Internet-based XMatch colour collaboration software solution.

Making use of eWarna's newly added 'Trim Search' capability, the move will ensure that A&E's thread colour library is available electronically to all parties involved in selecting and communicating thread colours. It will also extend the colour collaboration capabilities of the Xmatch solution beyond its original focus on fabric.

Larry McGee, group vice president of sales support worldwide for American & Efird, believes the arrangement will help companies "take even more time and cost out of the apparel supply chain by streamlining thread selection, approval, and communication."

He continues: "We believe that we can create an environment where, once a fabric colour is chosen, the thread colour question can be immediately settled and communicated across the supply chain.

"This will help customers bypass the traditional thread approval process and cut significant time and money out of their processes."

A&E's Global Color Palette consisting of approximately 1000 of the most commonly used thread shades is already available within eWarna's XMatch software. There are also plans to add the complete colour library of over 10,000 thread shades to the system in the future.
