UK Fashion Exports is extending the scope of its Export Awards for 2003 to include honours for an export buyer, as well as for individual brands.

The Awards cover: Accessories, Childrenswear, Designer, E-tailing, Intimate Apparel, Menswear and Womenswear.

The Microbusiness of the Year is a new Award which merges the previous small business and newcomer categories and is open to companies trading for fewer than two years and with an annual turnover of less than £250,000.

The Gold Award, presented to a company which has shown excellence in exporting over the past three years, and the Export Buyer of the Year complete the roster.
Prizes include free stands at major trade exhibitions.

"The UK Fashion Exports Awards recognise the very best in export performance and despite the continuing difficulties in selling overseas, many companies have managed to perform extremely well in the past 12 months, working in new markets and with new products," says Paul Alger, executive director, UK Fashion Exports.

Nominations for the Export Buyer Award will be sought in early January from the membership of UK Fashion Exports and will be evaluated by a panel of industry experts.

The closing date for entries is 24 March 2004, and application forms are available from UK Fashion Exports: Email: [email protected]
