Bangladesh to use warehouse in Spain for transient European stock

The organisation for garment manufacturers in Bangladesh has set up a warehouse in Spain for its European-bound products.

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has struck a deal with Spanish logistic company Yu-Kom-Publicidad for the facility.

According to the BGMEA, Yu-Kom-Publicidad will arrange the warehousing of goods cancelled or rejected by the arranged importer, until a fresh buyer can be found.

"Every year many on-the-way shipments of Bangladeshi exporters face cancellation by the importers, creating untold hassles for the exporters in clearing the consignments," it said.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday (21 April), with the BGMEA planning similar facilities in US and Canada.
