Far Eastern Textile Ltd's revenue rose by 18 per cent in February. The company, one of Asia's largest polyester makers, posted revenues of N$2.76bn, up from NT$2.34bn in the same month last year, the company said in a statement.

Revenue in the January-February period was NT$5.29bn, up 13 per cent from NT$4.7bn in the same period last year, the company said.

The increase in revenue was due in part to increased production in a new plant in northern Taiwan, said a company official.

Consolidated revenue for the company and its two major units - Far EasTone Telecommunications Co and Far Eastern Polychem Industries Ltd - was NT$6.39bn in February, up 38 per cent from NT$4.63bn a year ago, the company said.

Consolidated revenue for the January-February period was NT$13.03bn, up 41 per cent from NT$9.26bn a year ago, the company said.
