Upscale fashion firm Oroton Group Ltd on Tuesday said it had raised more than A$10 million through a share placement with the proceeds used to retire debt under existing facilities.

The company, which posted a sharp rise in annual profit earlier this year, owns brands such as Oroton, Morrissey and Marcs and is the exclusive licensee of Polo Ralph Lauren clothing in Australia and New Zealand.

"The facilities will be maintained and it is intended they will be utilised for general working capital purposes, including to fund the company's growth strategy through the roll out of retail stores and brand extensions," it said in a statement.
