Women's footwear business The Fashion House has expanded its online distribution network, and has appointed a senior vice president and creative director.

The Fashion House has added internet portals Amazon.com, Shoes.com and ShoeMall.com, growing its roster of distribution and channel partnerships.

Fashion house chief executive John Hanna said: "The Fashion House works with designers who have a loyal consumer base and established market appeal.

"By tapping into established distribution and sales channels such as department stores and capitalising on e-commerce opportunities, we are reaching greater numbers of interested, captive buyers."

Hanna said the company had had "great success" selling on the internet through zappos.com.

He continued: "The Fashion House continues to negotiate with brick and mortar and internet distributors.

"Additionally, we have several additional lines in the wings, and are currently in discussion with leading designers on par with Richard Tyler and Oscar de la Renta. In particular, we are working with one designer, with whom we believe a contract is imminent and will be announced by year-end."

The Fashion House has also appointed Daniel Amado as senior vice president and creative director in order to take the company's design team "to the next level", Hanna said.

"He is a major force in the footwear industry and we are excited to see his vision help us further develop our brands."

Amado spent 14 years at Nine West Group where he served as president of the Selby division and senior vice president, product development.

In this role, he doubled future orders for the company, achieved 130% gross margins and increased catalogue house sales by 70%.

Amado will oversee all aspects of design and line building for all of The Fashion House's product lines, including future brand acquisitions.  He and his team will also be responsible for materials sourcing, trend scouting and first-price cost negotiation.
