Causal clothing and jeans chain JC on Friday revealed it swung to a third quarter loss amid sliding sales.

The company posted a pre-tax loss of $525,000 compared to a pre-tax profit of $1.8 million in the year-ago period, with turnover down 13 per cent to $54.2m from $62.4m in 2001.

JC recently reported a 9.4 per cent year-on-year fall in August sales to $22.6m and added sales for the first eight months of 2002 slipped 2.4 per cent to $156.5m from the year-ago period.
