A near-shore fashion sourcing event set to take place later this month will include a debate on the challenges and opportunities for men's wear.

As more retailers and brands move into the men's wear sector, Fashion SVP - now in its fourth edition - will host a panel discussion looking at the specific challenges and opportunities for sourcing and production.

The panel will comprise Julia Bedwell, product development, buying and production Manager at Aquascutum; Ash Kumar, founder of Native Youth; Henrique Gandara, commercial director at Goucam; and sourcing, production and development consultant, Philip Worrall.

The event aims to provide sourcing and production professionals from retail and standalone clothing brands with in-depth knowledge, insight and advice on sourcing solutions.

In addition to seminars, around 60 manufacturers of knitwear, jersey and woven garments and accessories from over ten near-shore countries including the UK, Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia, Portugal, France, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Greece and Lithuania will be exhibiting at SVP Fashion.

Additional speakers confirmed include Lynne Tooms, senior director of quality and sourcing at George at Asda; Richard Benson, product director at Guide London; Susie Stone, designer; and Liraz Golan, head of sourcing and production at LK Bennett.

Fashion SVP will take place on 28-30 September at Olympia, London.
