Japanese group Fast Retailing, which owns the Uniqlo retail chain and also French fashion brands the Comptoir des Cotonniers and Princesse Tam Tam, has named Elisabeth Cunin to the post of managing director, France.

She succeeds Marianne Romestain, who was appointed to what was a newly-created post in April last year. She quit the group at the end of last month for reasons which have not been disclosed.

Cunin joins Fast Retailing from Etam where she headed its lingerie division. Prior to this, she worked as a senior executive at shoe retailer André.
