Apparel retailer Fast Retailing Co has posted a 16.6 per cent jump in same-store sales for May.

The company, which operates the Uniqlo chain worldwide, said the gain followed a 3.3 per cent comparable store sales rise in April and a 6.6 per cent same-store sales decline in March.

Customer numbers also rose on a same-store basis by 16.7 per cent during May, although the amount spent by each customer dipped 0.1 per cent.
