Fast Retailing, which runs the chain of Uniqlo casual clothing stores, is opening outlets in China from autumn next year.

The company is setting up a joint venture with a local manufacturing firm to take advantage of low-cost production in China.

Fast Retailing has already announced plans to open shops in the UK. China will be the second foreign country the company has opened branches in.

The new Chinese venture will be named Fast Retailing (Jiangus) Apparel Co. and will handle a full range of operations, including production and marketing.
