Casual wear company Fast Retailing will launch its new value apparel brand in September, Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported.

The brand - a joint venture with Daiei - will reportedly be called G.U.

Fast will open 25 stores in the Tokyo metropolitan area, Nihon said. Half will be within Daiei stores, the rest converted from outlets of Uniqlo, Fast's existing brand.

The company allegedly eyes 100 G.U. units within three years and 200 after five years.

As just-style reported previously, the trend-driven brand will be lower-priced than the popular Uniqlo basics brand.
