Vietnam could be hit by further anti-dumping legislation on its shoe exports - this time from Mexico, according to the Ministry of Trade.

Mexico is said to be mulling legal action against Vietnam, accusing it of shipping below-price shoes to the market, press reports reported the ministry as saying.

The US has already applied a round of anti-dumping duties to Vietnamese and Chinese shoes after investigations earlier this year.

Mexico's leather shoe industry office said cheap imports of Vietnamese shoes jumped 132% in the past few years, reports said. The number of pairs shipped totalled 6.8m in 2003, but this leapt to 15.8m by 2005.
