Cole, chairman and chief executive officer of Federated Logistics & Operations, a division of Federated Department Stores, Inc, joined the advisory board after assessing the value of service offered by The Thread.

The addition of Cole to The Thread's advisory board adds to a
top-notch panel of experts that includes: Robin Lewis, VP and executive editor WWD; Marc Balmuth, chairman of Bob's stores, and former president of Caldor stores; Jerry Hug, founding partner of Redwood Ventures; Stuart Bristor, president of Factoring Company, Bank of America, renowned author and expert on competitiveness and virtual organization; Roger Nagel, PhD; Professor James Rice, Jr, director of M.I.T.'s integrated supply chain management program; Andy Palmer VP sales and marketing with Bowstreet and Bob O'Neill, co-founder of EVP/FMI International.

Cole joined Federated in 1980 as VP and controller of the I. Magnin
division, having spent eight years in the Allied Stores organization.
Appointed to positions of increasing responsibility, he was named
president/COO of Federated Merchandising, the company's merchandise buying and product development division, in 1988. He assumed his current position in 1995.

Recently, The Thread unveiled an integrated marketing campaign to
