Athletic apparel and footwear retailer The Finish Line Inc has named Sally McKelvey as its new vice president, strategy for the Finish Line brand.

In this role she will analyse, recommend and implement programmes that will provide growth opportunities, increase operational productivity and enhance the company's profitability.

McKelvey previously served as senior director, operations financial planning and analysis, at convenience store chain 7-Eleven Inc. Before her time at 7-Eleven, McKelvey worked in audit and strategy consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture.

"Sally's talent for critical thinking will be valuable in her new role with Finish Line," said Steve Schneider, president and CEO. "She will be a key member of our leadership team, with the role of leading the evaluation, development and implementation of strategic growth initiatives for the Finish Line brand."

Finish Line operates 645 stores in malls across the United States.
