Foot Locker has promoted Stephen Jacobs and Lewis Kimble in a move that will be a catalyst for the US sportswear and footwear retailer to deliver on its its long-term growth strategy.

Jacobs, CEO of North America, and Lewis Kimble, CEO of Foot Locker's international business, are to add executive vice president to their titles, with effect from 29 February.

Jacobs has been with the company for 18 years in positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as president and CEO of Foot Locker North America. He previously served as president and CEO of Champs Sports.

Meanwhile, Kimble has been with the retailer for almost 40 years, having served as president and CEO of Foot Locker Europe since 201. Prior to that, he was managing director of Foot Locker Asia/Pacific.

"Our new organisational structure will be a catalyst for us to deliver on our 2020 strategic initiative to aggressively pursue European expansion opportunities in both our stores and digital platforms," said Kimble.

In March last year the specialist retailer outlined its long-term growth initiatives for 2015-20, designed to deliver US$10bn in annual sales. As well as European expansion, the company's goals include growth of its children's and women's businesses, apparel penetration and profitability, and building a more powerful digital business.
