Higher third quarter sales have helped specialty athletic retailer Foot Locker Inc to its seventh consecutive quarter of profit growth.

Net income in the three months to 29 October jumped 26.9% to $66m or $0.43 per share, up from $52m or $0.33 per share, last year. Sales rose 8.9% to $1.39bn from $1.28bn, and same-store sales increased 7.4%.
