Grainger has left French Connection after a decade with the company

Richard Grainer has left UK fashion retailer French Connection, where he was director of retail buying and merchandising, to take up a position at Michael Kors.

Grainger, who has left French Connection after a decade with the company, took up the role of senior director of merchandise planning, allocation and trading for the UK and Europe last month.

Prior to his time at French Connection, he was merchandise manager at Next for seven years.

French Connection yesterday (18 September) revealed narrower losses in its first half as initiatives to turn around the UK fashion retailer continue to gain traction but remain a "work-in-progress".

Revenues, however, fell 6.6%, reflecting planned store closures and exchange rate movements.
