Textile group Gamma Holding has completed the sale of its subsidiary Ames Europe to an unnamed Dutch private investor.

Gamma said it is not giving any information on the sum of money involved, but has revealed that the buyer's interests include a printing works and a logistics services company.

Ames Europe makes knitted fabrics for use in protective wear, shoes, healthcare, industrial and construction applications.

Its fabrics include traditional yarns such as cotton, polyester/cotton, polyester and polyamides as well as specialities based on high-quality, special synthetic fibres and blends.

The business, which has a turnover of about EUR18m (US$23.78m), has 117 workers.
