Patrik Söderström has been named CEO of lifestyle brand Gant, succeeding Brian Grevy who will step down from the company at the end of next month.

Söderström joined Gant in 2016 as executive vice president of global markets and sales and has since been key within the global management team, according to the company.

Prior to Gant, he served as North European managing director at Luxottica and previously spent eight years at Reebok where he held several positions, both on a Nordic and European level.

Söderström will officially step into his new role on 1 February 2020 but has already begun the transition ahead of Grevy's departure for German sporting goods giant Adidas on 31 January.

"His understanding of how to lead and navigate the commercial business and channel landscape in today's rapidly changing retail environment, while having a strong understanding of the power of the brand has already proven invaluable for the growth at Gant," says Thierry Guibert, chairman of the Gant board.

Söderström adds: "I am honoured and proud to take on this new role. With great results on a global level, it's an exciting time for Gant. During the past year we have recruited many talented co-workers and have built a strong and powerful team. Now our focus will be to continue on the successful journey we are on, to keep elevate and clarify our brand and products, and to keep growing, in both new and existing markets".
