Thai garment exports are on the rebound after a tough first quarter and are now set to meet their full-year target of $3 billion, new data showed on Friday.

Export Promotion Department figures showed clothing exports in the first 10 months of 2002 reached the $2.5bn mark which has restored industry confidence after a dismal first quarter when they were down 17 per cent.

Officials are now confident of hitting the full-year target but warned orders could fall back next year if the US goes to war with Iraq.
