Compression apparel company Skins has signed a deal for licensed sporting goods company Gathering Storm to handle the Australia-based business's US operations.

Skins USA has relocated from Colorado to California in line with the terms of the agreement, under which Gathering Storm will take over responsibility for distribution, sales and marketing of the high-tech sports apparel.

Former Adidas, Nike and Babolat executive Tim McCool has been appointed to lead the new business, following Skins' 100% sales growth in the US over the past year.

"Skins is committed to becoming the global leader in therapeutic compression wear and the US market will continue to play an integral role in realising this goal," said Skins CEO Jaimie Fuller.

"Looking at Tim's 28 years of experience and proven track record with brands such as Adidas, Nike and Babolat, we are confident he and his team can rapidly accelerate our brand growth in the United States."
