Framas Vietnam, a subsidiary of German footwear giant Framas, has opened a new $3.3 million manufacturing facility in Vietnam's Binh Duong Province.

The plant which produces plastic footwear components, has 30 machines and employs 200 workers.

Andreas Grewe, company general director said: "Vietnam's growing importance in the global economy has just been proven by the eminent ratification of the Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the US. Global players like adidas rely on countries like Vietnam to ensure production."

Framas Germany is one of the world's largest manufacturers of footwear components. Its customers include adidas, Reebok, Nike and Puma. The company has plants in China, Indonesia, Italy and South Korea.
