Ladies' wear retailer Gerry Weber International AG has reported an 18.3 per cent jump in net profit for the first half of the 2004/05 financial year, encouraged by increased brand sales and new store launches.

First-half net profit totalled €8.4 million, on net sales of €189.3m. Brand sales for the first half rose 13.1 per cent.

The company opened 13 new stores in the first half, and plans another 10-15 for the remainder of the year.
