Childrenswear maker Gini & Jony Apparel has announced the opening of four new factories as it strives to consolidate its market position.

The company will open two factories in Daman and two in Baddi in Himachal Pradesh which will have a total production capacity of two million units per annum.

"This expansion in capacity is in line with our aim of consolidating our position as the premium kids' and teens' lifestyle brand in India," said Prakash Lakhani, managing director of Gini and Jony.

The company has also acquired the licence to distribute the childrenswear range of United Colours of Benetton, Reebok Apparel and Reebok Footwear.

It already has the licence to design and produce Levis Sykes Junior, which was launched with a range of sporty street and casual wear for boys.
