Fashion apparel, footwear, and accessories business Global Brands Group has extended its sleepwear licensing arrangement with Disney Consumer Products.

The group, which was spun-off as a separate publicly-listed firm by global sourcing giant Li & Fung last month, said its Disney-licensed children's sleepwear business will be extended for a further two years, starting 1 January.

The deal will cover the Disney, Marvel and Star Wars brands, and include distribution to US retailers, as well as those that have a footprint in Canada.

Global Brands Group president Dow Famulak believes the company is "well-positioned" to better leverage its relationships with retailers and its distribution capabilities across key markets.

CEO and vice chairman Bruce Rockowitz added: "These agreements represent the progress the group continues to make in further expanding our global brands and licensing businesses, particularly in entertainment licensing which has historically been a strong area of our portfolio."
