Children’s clothing maker Good Lad Apparel on Thursday said it is voluntarily recalling around 52,000 infant girls' garments and sandals following choking scares.

The Pennsylvania-based company and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall follows the discovery that small decorative items on the garments can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Good Lad said it has received three reports of incidents involving the decorative items. A child swallowed a decorative ladybug and two others began to choke on decorative flowers. There have been no reports of injury.

The products were sold at department stores across the US from January to April for around $15.
