Gore, makers of Gore-Tex fabric, has broken into the fashion sportswear market with the launch of Escada Sport's autumn/winter 2001 collection.

Traditionally a technical performance wear specialist, Gore is branching out into more fashionable wear with Gore-Tex being used in pink rabbit fur jackets and pink ski pants. Gore's Windstopper fabric is also featured in Escada's golf range.

Samantha Cradock, Escada's sales director, said: "Gore-Tex and Windstopper fabrics add function to fashion which gives the buyer an added benefit to a garment."

Craig Torrie from Gore added: "The success of Gore-Tex fabric lies in its versatility. It is not only incredibly adaptable but is the market-leading waterproof membrane."
