Bernard Chaus, Inc announced that Greg Mongno has been named president of the company. A 17-year apparel industry veteran, Mr. Mongno joined Chaus in January 2000 as senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Josephine Chaus, chairwoman and chief executive officer, said: "Greg has established himself as a tremendous asset to our company. Leading our sales and marketing efforts, he has done an excellent job in positioning the Josephine Chaus brand within the department store channel, in spite of the very challenging retail climate.

"In addition, he has played a significant role in the development of design, pricing and merchandising strategies we have put in place over the past year to support our brand on the selling floor. Nick DiPaolo and I look forward to his ongoing participation in Chaus' future growth."

Prior to joining Chaus, Mr Mongno, 39, spent 12 years at Liz Claiborne Inc, where he held several management positions in key divisions, including misses' sportswear, large sizes and menswear. At the time he joined Chaus, he was vice president/general manager of the Liz Casual Division. Before his tenure at Liz Claiborne, Mr Mongno launched Tommy Hilfiger Furnishings. He began his career as a menswear buyer for Lord & Taylor.
