GretagMacbeth, a colour management solutions specialist, has announced a strategic alliance with colour formulation software developer, SheLyn Inc. Under the agreement, SheLyn will integrate its SLI-Form software with GretagMacbeth's NetProfiler web-enabled instrument management software.

NetProfiler is a patented system that allows the user to automatically test, measure and profile instruments remotely over the Internet, providing the ability to attain the desired instrument quality control certifications.

"This strategic partnership will extend our technological reach in the textile industry and demonstrates the growing acceptance of NetProfiler as the standard for creating and maintaining consistent colour measurement in a supply chain," said GretagMacbeth vice president and general manager Jim Davis.

"SheLyn is a very well respected colour science company, and the fact that it has subscribed to our open architecture philosophy is a strong indication that this will become a growing trend within the industry," added Davis.

SheLyn operations officer Lynn Connelly added: "This agreement allows SheLyn customers access to the only system that can achieve true management of colour measurement across a diverse set of instruments and software. SLI-Form software allows the interchange of various file formats and different data structures to be interoperable with instruments from different vendors."

"Obtaining precise color measurements and streamlining the colour approval process in a global environment is imperative to quality and cost controls. We expect SheLyn's and GretagMacbeth's approach to change the way the textile industry does business in the near future", she concluded.
