A new performance management tool has helped children's apparel retailer The Gymboree Corporation cope with information flow during a heavy growth period.

The budgeting and reporting suite, developed by Oregon-based SRC Software, has been responsible for Gymboree's financial reporting, analysis and forecasting for the past fiscal year.

"Since the implementation, our team has spent less time maintaining models and more time analysing the business," Gymboree finance director Charles Bracher said.

"The software has given us remarkable advantages through increased data integrity, the speed at which we can budget and report, and the ability to distribute reports automatically.

"Also, the visibility that SRC provides has been crucial in helping us reduce the time it takes us to close the books each month.

"As we continue to grow our number of stores and add new retail concepts, the scalability of SRC really puts us ahead of the game."

Depending on specific client needs, SRC's budgeting and reporting suite can offer budgeting support at the department, cost centre or project level.

Gymboree operates 600 stores worldwide and recently launched boutique-style baby apparel chain Janie & Jack.
