Japanese retailer Onward Kashiyama Co has posted a 3.3% drop in first half pretax profit, blaming bad weather on poor demand for spring and summer fashions.

For the six months ended 31 August, pretax profit was JPY11.9bn (US$0.1bn), with a net loss of JPY534m compared with a net profit of JPY5.67bn in the previous year.

The full year outlook is for a net profit of JPY13bn on revenues of JPY310bn.
