US apparel business Hampshire Group has appointed William Drozdowski as interim-CFO following the termination of Trey Darwin's position earlier this month.

Drozdowski has been appointed pursuant to an agreement with financial services and consulting firm, GRL Capital Advisors. He has over 25 years of financial and operational experience, and in the past eight years has served as interim CFO, or financial advisor, for thirteen of GRL Capital Advisors’ clients in the retail, wholesale, manufacturing and distribution industries.

Before joining GRL in 2006, Drozdowski was financial controller with Urban Brands.

CeO Paul Buxbaum, said: “Bill’s strong background in a broad range of financial management, analysis and turnaround functions makes him a perfect fit to take over leadership of our financial organisation for the near term while we seek a permanent CFO.”

The decision to terminate Darwin's role was effective from 2 March and was subsequently being covered by Buxbaum, and chief operating officer, David Price.

Last month, Hampshire cut its sales and earnings outlook for the fourth quarter, blaming the cancellation or delay of December deliveries and quality issues from a key fabric supplier.
