Apparel company Hampshire Group has extended its licence agreement covering the design, production and distribution of the Geoffrey Beene sweater brand.

The agreement, with Geoffrey Beene LLC, will now run until 31 December 2012, the company said.

The licence was originally granted in 1998, and the deal has seen the brand gain distribution in department stores such as Macy's, Belk, Bon-Ton and Boscov's.

"We are extremely pleased to be continuing our partnership with an established heritage brand like Geoffrey Beene," said Mark Lepine, president of Hampshire Group's men's division.

"The renewed agreement further solidifies our portfolio of brands and demonstrates our commitment to providing retailers with superior quality product."
