German interlinings maker Hansel Textil has signed a joint venture with Bangalore-based accessories supplier Sewing Systems as part of its plans to expand in India.

The joint venture, Hansel Textile Systems Pvt Ltd, will supply interlinings to the apparel export and domestic garment industries. The company will also offer a range of products for India's fast-growing automotive industry.

Other products available will include sewing threads, embroidery threads, metal buttons, snap fasteners, tagging equipment, hook and bars, elastics, shoulder pads, and outer and innerlinings.
Speaking at the launch of the new company, Mr Wolfgang Schulte, chairman of Hansel Textile Systems Pvt Ltd, said: "It has always been our desire to associate with a competent Indian company as we have very ambitious growth plans for the Indian market.

"Hansel Textile Systems Pvt Ltd will source top quality products both from the existing production facility in Germany as well as the new hi-tech facility being set up in China."
