Fashion retailer Hennes & Mauritz today (5 September) revealed plans to open its first store in Bulgaria during March 2012.

H&M said the store will be located in the country's capital city Sofia. It will have a sales area of 2,200 square metres and cover two sales floors.

"We see this as a natural step in our expansion strategy; to now be able to offer our customers in Bulgaria a chance to buy fashion and quality at the best price. We see great potential for expansion in the country," said H&M CEO Karl-Johan Persson.

H&M opened its first store in Singapore over the weekend.
