Hugo Boss' current supervisory board chairman, Dr Giuseppe Vita, has stepped down from his position, it was announced today (18 June).

The company's managing board has also filed an application with the local court in Stuttgart for the appointment of Dr Hellmut Albrecht as a new shareholder representative on the board, and expects Dr Albrecht to be elected by the board as chairman.

Vita said: "I have informed the company of my intention to stand down as chairman and member of the supervisory board of Hugo Boss at the end of this month.

"This is a good time for a change."

Albrecht said: "I am delighted to be able to represent Hugo Boss in the future as a member of the supervisory board and look forward to working closely with the representatives of all employees and investors in the best interests of the company."
