Iconix Brand Group has licensed Titan Industries to design, manufacture and distribute footwear for its Badgley Mischka brand, the company has revealed.

The Badgley Mischka Couture footwear collection will initially include 40-50 styles of evening shoes, sandals and boots, to be launched later this year in high-end US stores such as Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.

The company will also launch a 20-style bridal collection in spring 2007. Both collections will retail primarily at US$250-500, with select Couture styles priced up to US$1,000. A more accessible bridge-priced collection of shoes is set to follow later.

Mark Badgley and James Mischka said they were excited about the growth potential of the two collections. "Titan's sourcing and manufacturing capabilities will let us expand the scope and quality of our footwear collections, and their sales and distribution abilities will give them tremendous exposure," they said.

Iconix CEO Neil Cole added: "Footwear is an essential part of any luxury brand and this licence represents an important platform for us to expand the brand."

Meanwhile, Titan CEO Joe Ouaknine hailed the "tremendous momentum" of the Badgley Mischka brand, which he said offered a "multi-faceted opportunity" to create a broad range of footwear.
