The Indian government is investigating dumping charges against Indonesian suppliers of partially oriented yarn (POY), Asia Pulse reported today. It is feared that the investigation will lead to a slump in exports to India.

Indian producers have lodged the allegation against POY products from Indonesia and a number of other countries including Taiwan, Malaysia, and Thailand, synthetic fibre association (Apsyfi) said.

Indonesia exports around $1.5m worth of POY a year to India. Apsyfi expressed concern that the dumping allegation could affect Indonesian export performance as all producers will suffer, although only 10 of them have exported POY to that country.
