Sales at Spanish fashion group Inditex SA grew 24 per cent to €3.96 billion in the nine months ended 31 October 2004.
The launch of 241 new stores along with an increase in like-for-like sales contributed to the good results, the company said.

Nine-month operating profit grew 41 per cent to €604 million, while net profit increased 39 per cent to €397m.

Third-quarter gross margin rose from 52.2 per cent to 55.7 per cent, boosted by higher selling prices in some of the group's Spanish-speaking markets, less currency impact and better stock control.

Inditex is based in La Coruna in Spain and operates chains under the Zara, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, Pull & Bear, Bershka and Oysho names.
