Walter Herrmann has been elected as CEO and executive director of the Institute for Sewing Technology from 1 January 2007.

Herrmann most recently headed the Textile, Clothing and Fashion Academy (Textil-, Bekleidungs- und Modefachschule) in Zurich, where he not only set up the apparel engineering department but also conducted consulting and external training courses in the industry.

Birgit Jussen has been appointed as his deputy. Jussen works at Texplorer as a quality manager.

The Institute for Sewing Technology (Institut für Nähtechnik eV), founded in 1969, is a Europe-wide independent body which is concerned with sewing technology, research, development, consulting and seminar activities.
