SPESA Expo 2004, the machinery and technology event making its debut in 2004, is positioning itself as the main showcase for the sewn products industry in 2004 following pledges of support from the organisers of JIAM and IMB.

The endorsements also suggest SPESA is emerging as the US equipment and technology show that will alternate with JIAM in Japan and IMB in Cologne on a triennial basis.

JASMA, the Japan Sewing Machinery Manufacturers Association and organiser of the JIAM apparel industry exhibition, says it is officially backing SPESA Expo 2004. As does VDMA, the German Association for Garment and Leather Machinery which also sponsors IMB, the world's largest exhibition for apparel production technology and textile processing.

Meanwhile CSMA, the China Sewing Machinery Association, has also given its
official approval and support to SPESA Expo 2004. CSMA is the sponsor of CISMA, an international sewing machinery and accessory show held annually in Shanghai, China.

Specifically, JASMA, VDMA and CSMA say they will encourage their members to exhibit in SPESA Expo 2004.

According to David Siegelman, SPESA President and President of Lectra USA: "These unprecedented and enthusiastic endorsements by our industry
colleagues around the world positions SPESA Expo 2004 as a truly global
exhibition that will serve all segments of the sewn products industry.
Their approval also establishes the Expo as a major player in the world
exhibition network.

SPESA Expo 2004 makes its debut from 18-20 May 2004 at the Miami Beach
Convention Center. It is owned and sponsored by SPESA, the Sewn Products Equipment & Suppliers of the Americas.
