"Not just a 'look-see' event but a fair which generates serious business," was the final verdict from the organisers of the autumn 2002 Texworld exhibition. They believe this year's show generated 20 per cent more orders than last year's.

The event was visited by more than l7,000 buyers, nine per cent more than in February this year and 28 per cent more than in October 2001.

And although the largest numbers of visitors are still from France or the UK, this time around there was also a strong presence from the USA, Japan and South Korea.

Similarly exhibtor's ranks were swelled by new entries from Argentina, Ecuador and Egypt, making a total of 76 new exhibitors.
