Sporting goods retailer Intersport France has selected Centric Software's Apparel Suite PLM (product lifecycle management) solution to help speed the delivery of its brand collections to stores. 

By improving the reliability of information sent to suppliers in its private-label group, the sample development process is faster and its exclusive brand collections get to the stores on time.

"To get our collections into stores on schedule, we must have definitive samples, or the entire season's delivery schedule can be affected," says Nicolas Thibault, exclusive brands business unit manager at Intersport France.

"Yet valuable time was being lost as we went back and forth with the suppliers, answering questions or requesting changes, because we provided inconsistent information in our technical design files."

The process is faster in other ways as well. For example, because design information is now centralised, an assistant can access files, answer questions and keep the process moving forward when a product manager is out of the office.

Intersport France is a member of Intersport International Corporation (IIC), which has more than 5000 stores in 35 countries operating under the Intersport, Sport Expert, Halle aux sports, Sport Leader and Shooz brands.
