Safety solution provider Intertek has unveiled iComply, an automated artificial intelligence application to help companies ensure and demonstrate compliance.

The new application is particularly aimed at helping businesses to cope with the demands of the imminent US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act’s Certification and Testing Rule, also known as the 15-Month Rule.

This, said Intertek, means that companies will have to comply with stricter protocols and standards around the testing and certification of certain children’s products sold in the US.

Intertek describes iComply as simple and user-friendly, producing a production test plan and a General Certificate of Compliance, on a 24/7 basis.

“The requirements of the 15-Month Rule place a heavy burden on US manufacturers and importers of record to have detailed documentation surrounding consumer products sold in the United States at their fingertips to furnish upon the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s request, or they may face significant delays in getting their products to market,” said Gene Rider, president of Intertek Consumer Goods North America.
