A four-member Italian team headed by Aldo Portingnon, chairman of the Liberty group of companies, and Kerala Industries Minister Ibrahim Kunju have finalised plans for an Italian 'fashion village' in Kochi, India.

The village, set to cost INR1 billion, is a joint project of Kerala Industries Minister Ibrahim Kunju and will consist of 30 Italian garment units, a sales outlet and a luxury hotel.

A textile mill supported by the Italian companies involved is also planned

The venture is hoped to open up 25,000 new jobs.
