A joint venture of Italian companies is said to be close to signing a $7.5 million leather technology and training deal with the Ethopian Minisitry of Trade.

According to reports in the African press, the agreement will see the Leather and Leather Products Technology Institute (LLPTI) train qualified technicians and workers for tanneries, leather goods and shoe factories.
